What is the difference between vinyl and nitrile gloves?
Vinyl gloves are made from PVC, which is lower cost raw material compared to nitrile. The tradeoff on price comes in the form of quality as they are not as stretchable or durable as nitrile gloves. Nitrile gloves, on the other hand, are made from acrolyontrile and butadiene monomers bonded together. This chemical bonding process creates a highly durable glove that is applicable in many settings.
What is the difference between medical and industrial grade gloves?
Aside from raw materials, it is also important to look at the thickness and the specific application for which you are using the gloves to determine which glove type is best suited for your needs. Medical-grade gloves are designed for use in situations where there is risk of blood born pathogens whereas industrial gloves may be thicker and intended for applications that require handling of harsh chemicals and solvents.
